Özet

Unpredictable and frequently large-scale events, disasters have the potential to seriously affect people's lives, health, the environment, and the economy. Although disasters are frequently unforeseeable and uncontrollable, preparedness and reaction plans can help lessen their effects. As a result, having the right data is essential for the disaster management cycle, which includes procedures used before, during, and following a disaster. This section describes the use of data from remote sensing technologies in the previously outlined cycle.

Additionally, a case study utilizing remotely sensed data for damage detection research was carried out. Sentinel-2 photos were utilized in this application to identify the impacted areas of the Eskişehir/Kırka area fire. The excellent accuracy of the results show how useful remote sensing data is for damage detection.
