Synopsis
Chemistry science is a branch of science that combines abstract and concrete concepts and provides students with permanent learning by experimenting in a laboratory environment based on the principle of learning by doing. Today, students cannot conduct experiments due to many reasons such as the lack of laboratories in many schools, teachers' failure to include experiments with the concern of educating the curriculum or the expensive chemicals. Thus, some subjects that require applied lectures are covered with the teacher-centered lecture method. With technology taking its place in the world of education, web 2.0 tools, animations, interactive virtual laboratories and artificial intelligence applications prepared for educational purposes have become one of the course materials we use to embody abstract chemistry concepts. With the web 2.0 tools prepared for different purposes, the theory of a chemistry subject can be enriched with visual materials and shared with the student, and it can be aimed to ensure permanent learning by preparing a game suitable for the subject content with the same web 2.0 tool. Experiments that cannot be transferred to the laboratory environment by means of tools using artificial intelligence can be presented to the students interactively in the virtual environment, and in this way, we can benefit from technology in all stages we include in the narration of a subject, such as attracting attention, discovery, explanation, deepening and evaluation. In this direction, knowing the web 2.0 tools and knowing the methods that can be integrated into the lecture according to the needs is only possible with the technology integration to education. In this section, in addition to the use of web 2.0 tools in chemistry education, flipped calssrom which is blended learning types, and game-based learning, one of the technology integration methods into education, that can be used in teaching chemistry subjects, are explained.
