Synopsis
Nasal polyposis (NP) are common benign intranasal masses with smooth surface, gelatinous, usually bilateral, characterized by inflammation of the sinus or nasal mucosa, originating from the epithelium in the middle meatus and ethmoid region, and closing the nasal passage. It is also one of the most important causes of nasal congestion. Nasal polyposis treatment is still controversial and is a difficult and disappointing process. Since the etiology was not fully clarified, the treatment algorithm could not be developed and disease recurrence (29-53%) could not be prevented.
