Synopsis

Digitalisation and artificial intelligence have precipitated substantial changes in contemporary educational processes. Educational environments are shaped by technology-supported applications as well as traditional approaches, and this situation affects many areas from teaching processes to educational management. In this context, the following issues are of particular importance: the structuring of artificial intelligence-supported educational management; the angles from which the effects of digitalisation on educational environments can be addressed; and the pedagogical and ethical elements that should be considered in the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching processes.

The present volume aims to provide a multidimensional evaluation of digital transformation processes in education, addressing a wide range of audiences such as educational administrators, teachers, academics and policy makers. It brings together different perspectives on how artificial intelligence and digital technologies can be used effectively in education, discussing the uses of artificial intelligence in education, the effects of digitalisation on classroom and school management processes, and artificial intelligence-based analytical approaches in educational management.

Discussions pertaining to the utilisation of artificial intelligence in learning processes are supported by illustrations drawn from diverse educational levels, ranging from vocational training at associate degree level to the employment of artificial intelligence in medical laboratories.Additionally, the role of technology in the teaching process is examined through the evaluation of the effects on the use of animation tools in science teaching. The chapters focusing on AI-supported learning analytics address issues such as how data-driven learning processes are shaped, how they contribute to individualised learning experiences and how they affect students' academic performance. In terms of educational governance, the opportunities offered by smart education systems, decision-making processes integrated with artificial intelligence and the effects of digitalisation on educational governance through the perspective of techno-optimism are analysed.

The book's overarching aim is twofold: firstly, to provide a comprehensive theoretical framework for understanding digitalisation and artificial intelligence in education, and secondly, to offer a detailed evaluation of current research and practices in this field. The study's primary objective is to contribute to scientific discussions on the subject of digital transformation and its effects on educational processes from an academic perspective. We hope that this book will serve as a valuable resource for researchers and educational stakeholders seeking to deepen their understanding of digitalisation and artificial intelligence in education.
