In cities, where a large portion of people prefer living spaces today; the number of transportation, shelter, security, energy and similar needs are increasing due to rapid population growth, urbanization and migration movements. The expanding borders of cities make managing both intra-city and inter-city transportation a difficult process. At this point, smart transportation applications come to the agenda in cities and city managers are looking for new applications and solutions to make transportation services more comfortable and secure. Smart cards are generally used in various areas, especially in transportation services in cities. Recently, the idea that the functions of smart cards should be increased has frequently come to the fore. At this point, one of the smart cards offered for use in our country is the Türkiye Kart. The aim of this study is to provide information about the Türkiye Kart project and to draw the attention of the relevant parties to potential areas of study by emphasizing the importance of the subject in terms of smart transportation systems.
