Synopsis
Urban culture is a dynamic structure that shapes the lifestyles, habits, values and habits of individuals living in urban areas. Historically, urban culture has been shaped in cities where trade, art and industrialization are intensely experienced. On the other hand, Generation Z (the generation born after 2000), born in a world where digitalization is intensely experienced, sees technology not as a tool but as a fundamental part of everyday life. From this point of view, in this study, the fact that individuals belonging to Generation Z live in urban rather than rural areas has made it necessary to address Generation Z and urban culture together in terms of the protection and development of urban culture. In the study, urban culture, protection of urban culture, sustainable management of the city from the perspective of the lifestyle and habits of Generation Z were discussed. Generation Z is not only a student, but also a consumer, voter and personnel candidate. In this respect, the environment, culture, social and economic opportunities that this generation lives in the urban space are effective. While Generation Z is trying to understand the city, city administration and public administration, public administration may also be trying to understand Generation Z. In this context, this study aims to evaluate the perception of Generation Z by addressing urban culture within the scope of the administrative dimension and to contribute to the literature in this relativelty less highlighted area.
