Synopsis

Fear of failure in sports is an important psychological factor that can negatively affect the performance of athletes. While athletes set big goals for themselves in achieving success, the fear of failure is combined with the thought of not being able to achieve these goals, causing the anxiety levels of the athletes to increase. This state of fear, which occurs in the psychological structures of athletes, causes anxiety to be revealed. As a result of this section, which was carried out in order to evaluate the effect of fear of failure in sports on anxiety; It can be stated that the presence of fear of failure in athletes causes some negative emotional states to emerge in the inner world of athletes. This situation, which occurs in the psychological structures of the athletes, causes an increase in anxiety, causing the athletes to not be able to perform as they want during the competition. In this context, it can be said that athletes should manage their anxiety effectively.
