Synopsis

Energy drinks and sports drinks are often confused with each other, but energy drinks and sports drinks are differentiated from each other due to the differences in their ingredients.   Sports drinks contain carbohydrates as the main ingredient to improve optimal performance in sport and only caffeine as a stimulant has a positive effect on the athlete's performance. Energy drinks, on the other hand, may pose a risk during exercise due to the presence of multiple stimulants. The high doses of stimulants in energy drinks can pose a number of risks during a sporting activity. Therefore, it is recommended to take energy drinks during the day. On the other hand, consuming energy drinks with alcohol can also lead to risk factors. The main component of energy drinks is the stimulation of caffeine, but there are many ingredients that increase the caffeine content. These are high stimulants such as guarana, ginseng, as well as carnitine, taurine, glucoronolactone in energy drinks. For this reason, the caffeine content of the can can be deceptive. Because of the risk factors involved, a maximum of one can of energy drink per day is recommended.
