Synopsis

The current study focuses on various strategies to increase motivation and participation in sports education. Effective sports education should be planned in an engaging, interactive and sustainable way, taking into account the individual needs of the students. Pedagogical methods include approaches such as game-based learning, goal setting, positive feedback and social support. In particular, developing a sense of self-efficacy and creating a suitable environment are critical in increasing students' motivation. It has been emphasized that motivation is shaped by internal and external factors, and it has been stated that intrinsic motivation enables individuals to act according to their own desires, while extrinsic motivation offers short-term effects depending on reward or punishment. Motivation theories such as Self-Determination Theory and Goal-Setting Theory explain the importance of meeting the psychological needs of individuals such as autonomy, competence and relatedness. In order to encourage participation, it is necessary to organize fun and diverse activities and to prepare programs appropriate to age and level. In addition, effective communication and leadership skills of coaches are decisive in increasing the performance of athletes and team harmony. Mental preparation methods include visualization and stress management techniques, while environmental factors include the quality of equipment and facilities and the support of the social environment. Finally, the use of technology in areas such as educational videos, athlete performance monitoring applications and data analysis supports the motivation and development processes of athletes. These approaches aim to increase the contribution of sports to the physical, mental and social development of individuals and to gain healthy living habits.
