Synopsis
Exercise and Sport Psychology is a broad discipline in terms of its scope. This study examines four key topics: mental toughness, anxiety, imagery, and motivation. Upon reviewing the literature, it is evident that studies have predominantly explored variables such as gender, age group, sport experience, and type of sport. It has been observed that quantitative studies are more prevalent, while qualitative and experimental research are less frequently conducted. The existing studies mainly focus on individual and team athletes, combat sports athletes and athletes with disabilities, with no studies involving elderly populations found.
