Synopsis

The aim of this study is to highlight the key features of human resource management (HRM) practices in Russia. HRM in Russia has shown significant development, especially in recent years, due to changing workforce dynamics. Although HR practices in Russia began to align more closely with Western standards following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, traditional management approaches and cultural elements still exert influence.

The core understanding of HRM in Russia is to utilize employees' skills most efficiently and ensure that organizational goals are achieved. However, in this centrally governed country, leadership is typically controlled by top-level executives, which means that HR processes are often shaped according to the views of decision-makers. Additionally, as the labor market is subject to fluctuations due to economic changes, HR practices must remain flexible.

The importance of HRM in Russia has become even more apparent with the major transformation in the country's labor market. Factors such as globalization, technology, and digitalization have increased the impact of HR on organizational success. Moreover, HR departments in Russia place great emphasis on legal regulations and labor rights. Therefore, HR professionals must be cautious in protecting employees' rights and ensuring appropriate working conditions.
