Synopsis
The primary purpose of this study is to provide a detailed definition of the concept of boreout, which has recently become the focus of academic studies, to examine the concept of boreout structurally, to analyze the causes and consequences of boreout, and to address strategies for reducing the effects of boreout. Boreout is a set of feelings of boredom, meaninglessness, and inability to develop that an individual feels in the work environment over time. In modern work life, eliminating such negativities with minimal cost is very important for the well-being of organizations. Boreout can be described as a process in which emotional wear and tear in individuals progresses insidiously due to its structure. For this reason, it is beneficial for researchers to examine boreout and concepts related to boreout in more detail. It is thought that if the causes and consequences of boreout are well understood, employees, one of our day's most strategically important resources, will be able to act efficiently and motivate.
