Synopsis

There is a considerable amount of research on financial exploitation focusing on the elderly, as it negatively impacts individuals' economic well-being and quality of life. However, studies addressing this issue in different age groups are limited in the literature. The present study aims to determine the relationship between university students' financial attitude and behaviors and financial exploitation. In this context, a survey was conducted with 639 students who participated voluntarily. The collected data were analyzed using frequency analysis, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis. The results revealed a low-level, positive, and statistically significant relationship between financial attitudes, behaviors, and exploitation. Additionally, significant differences were identified in students' perspectives on financial attitudes, behaviors, and exploitation based on their gender, their families' place of residence, and their families' average monthly income.
