Synopsis
This study aims to examine research on disability in the field of open and distance learning conducted between 2020 and 2024 in the Web of Science (WoS) database. Based on a qualitative research design, the study employs descriptive and content analysis methods to provide an in-depth review of the selected articles. The research investigates the topics addressed, methods and models employed, participant groups, data collection tools, and data analysis techniques utilized during this period. The findings highlight a significant focus on accessibility, the design of online learning platforms, and the experiences of individuals with disabilities in online learning processes. It was also found that applied studies are limited, with theoretical frameworks and policy recommendations being more prominent. This study underscores the importance of accessibility standards, the necessity of support mechanisms, and the adoption of an interdisciplinary approach to addressing the needs of individuals with disabilities in open and distance learning. The findings aim to contribute to the development of more inclusive and accessible distance education models to ensure equal educational opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
