Synopsis
Aim: This research, planned in line with these considerations, was conducted to determine the satisfaction levels of the student nurses' education.
Materıal and Method: The descriptive study population consists of 831 students in a nursing department. The sample selection method has not been tried and the entire universe has been tried to be reached. 526 (63.2%) nursing students outside the school who were not in school and did not want to participate in the study due to lack of timeliness were included voluntarily. Data were collected by questionnaire form and Student Satisfaction Questionnaire - Short Form (SAPS). Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chronbach's α, t test in independent groups, one way ANOVA and LSD post hoc analyzes were used to evaluate the data. The SAS-Short Form was adapted to Turkish in 2011 by Baykal et al. In this study, chronbach's a value of MSL-Short Form was .97 and it was found to be quite high.
Results: 31.9% of the students were in the first class, 64.6% were female, 30.8% were male and 69.2% were in the 17-21 age group. The total mean score of the students on the scale was determined as 3.10±.76. The subscales of the scale and the average score of the students from them; (3.17 ± .85), participation in decisions (3.15 ± .86), scientific, social and technical events (2.97 ± .84), quality of education (3.00 ± .87) . It is said that as you approach the average score 1 in the whole scale or subscale, the satisfaction of the student is low and the satisfaction is high as you approach 5. When this situation is taken into consideration, it is determined that the satisfaction of the students is higher than normal. Statistically significant differences were found between the income status of the students (p <0.05), their age (p <0.01) and the satisfaction level of their education (p <0.001). According to the advanced statistical analysis, it was determined that the income levels of the families were higher, the students in the 17-21 age group and the students in the first class had higher satisfaction levels than the students in the other groups.
Conclusıon: Satisfaction with the education of nursing students was found to be higher than normal. As a result, efforts should be made to increase the satisfaction level of the students with education every passing day. Academic and administrative staff in the school, especially university and school administrators, should bear a lot of responsibility in this regard.
