Synopsis

There is a bidirectional interaction between nutrition and mental health. The harmful or extra foods we consume and other inadequately taken foods can affect mental health positively or negatively. After a while, it is inevitable that the current mental state will affect the diet. In this context, important information has been compiled on how mental health nurses help dietary pattern with an adequate-balanced diet and diet and additional nutritional supplements appropriate to the needs of the individual in the protection and treatment of individuals with mental health disorders.

The Effect of Social Capital on Organ Donation: Under the Title the Power of Social Ties, when it is aimed to increase organ donation, topics were dealt with great importance to benefit from the power of social capital.

Relating to the Role of Orthodontic, Orthopaedic and Orthognathic Interventions on Respiratory Tract and Functions, important issues under this heading were clarified by analyzing the effects of orthodontic, orthopaedic and/or orthognathic interventions on respiratory functions in a separate section.

In Current Approach of Intraoperative Fluid Therapy, considering that individualizing fluid management is an important factor in decreasing complications, comprehensive information was given on planning of intraoperative fluid therapy according to clinical guidelines and patient characteristics.

Pediatric Chronic Critical Illness: In the Section of Definition, Clinical Characteristics, Epidemiology and Prevention Strategies, pediatric chronic critical illness (PCKD) was pointed out that it is a complex health condition that occurs in children who have recovered from acute critical condition but require long-term intensive care support. Descriptive topics for The integration of multidisciplinary approaches and innovative technologies for the identification and management of this patient group were discussed.

Natural Disasters and Medical Identification Organization: In 2023, by revealing loss of life and physical destruction after Kahramanmaraş Centred Earthquake and as well as successful aspects, some of the shortcomings in this regard, important information were given on especially the roles of the Forensic Medicine Institution and Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in the identification processes, difficulties in the field and solution suggestions.

Elderly individuals are the most risky group in terms of the risk of pressure sore development and malnutrition and nutrient deficiencies are important risk factors for the development of pressure sores. In this context, the necessity of adequate and balanced nutrition to promote the healing of wounds and to ensure skin integrity was also mentioned.

Emphasizing the effects of ionizing radiation on the male reproductive system, the alarming situation due to both genetic and biological consequences of radiation, especially in people working in areas such as radiology, it was pointed out that reproductive health problems could accumulate over time and their effects could be seen many years later. In addition, because it is necessary to continuously monitor radiation levels in work areas and to minimize even low doses; information was given on that the effects of ionizing radiation on male reproductive health, especially vary depending on the duration and dose of exposure, labor safety standards must be observed to protect men from such influences and regular health checks are made.  

In a separate chapter, the usage areas, advantages, challenges and future role of cloud computing technologies in the healthcare sector were covered comprehensively. While cloud computing optimizes diagnosis and treatment processes in the healthcare sector with the integration of big data analytics and artificial intelligence, information on important advantages such as cost savings and flexibility were presented.

Although organ donation is a vital action today, there are still not enough donations to meet the demand. Misunderstandings and obstacles to organ transplantation were discussed in detail, with a special focus on people's erroneous religious, legal and medical knowledge and attitudes.

Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative neoplasm and it accounts for approximately 15% of newly diagnosed leukemia cases in adults. When patients with CML and Ph+ ALL did not respond to treatment using first- and second-line tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), the progression of the disease, relapse, the occurrence of resistance or intolerance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors used, the presence of T315I mutation, the use of new generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors in treatment were discussed.

Blood sampling is frequently encountered by families and children in both outpatient and clinic services. Procedures such as blood collection, vaccination, peripheral venipuncture are unfortunately sources of pain and anxiety. This situation makes the parents as well as the children nervous during the procedure and can sometimes lead to arguments. In this context, the importance of nurses was emphasized.

In this chapter which was conducted to determine the pain beliefs of nursing students and the factors related to pain beliefs and discussed, explanatory information was given on that organic pain beliefs of nursing students are higher than psychological pain beliefs, and the pain beliefs of nursing students differ according to their demographic and pain-related characteristics.

Digital applications and new technologies that offer advantages in terms of access to healthcare services, cost and quality, and that health tourism is a more efficient and attractive option for both patients and service providers were also mentioned.

With the study conducted to determine the satisfaction levels of student nurses regarding their education, it was discussed that the satisfaction levels of nursing students regarding their education were found to be slightly higher than normal.

According to 2019 data from the World Health Organization, there have been more than 700,000 suicides worldwide. By determining that suicide rates increased significantly, especially in individuals aged 70 and over, attention was drawn to the development of holistic approaches and national strategies to prevent suicide in older adults.

Under the Title of Climate Change and Health Impacts, climate change, resulting from a combination of natural processes and anthropogenic activities, and its profound effects on both the environment and human health were analyzed from multiple perspectives.

Psychological resilience in elderly individuals is of great importance at individual and social level. Especially in low- and middle-income countries, happens fast. Genetic and epigenetic factors have an impact on longevity. For the reasons mentioned, it was emphasized that these factors, together with environmental impacts, should be examined comprehensively.

The causes of patella fractures were listed and detailed information about prevention and treatment was presented.

Approximately 20,000 earthquakes occur worldwide each year, resulting in significant loss of life, damage to infrastructure and economic instability. Under a separate topic, opinions were put forward on the negative effects of earthquakes on public health and the comprehensive consideration of preparedness and response strategies to mitigate these effects.

For Current Status of Organoprotective Agents and the Adverse Effects of Radiotherapy on Genital Systems, satisfying and extensive information was provided under the topic of strategies.

Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is a complex and potentially life-threatening condition characterized by rapid onset of muscle weakness and paralysis, usually following an infectious disease. The syndrome requires a high level of clinical suspicion among healthcare providers, particularly in emergency departments, presenting significant challenges in diagnosis and management. Explanatory information was given on early diagnosis and timely treatment to detect this syndrome.
