Synopsis

Although climate change is seen as a scientific and technical-based problem, it is a multidimensional issue that is social, environmental, economic and even political. Gender equality is a phenomenon that should be evaluated among these dimensions. Because not everyone is affected by the climate crisis in the same way and this creates injustice. Considering their position in disadvantaged groups, it is a generally accepted judgment that women are more affected by climate change than men. The aim of this study is to examine to what extent women are affected by climate change due to their disadvantaged positions, to evaluate it from the perspective of climate justice and to contribute to the development of gender equality-based approaches. In the study, where qualitative research method was used, international and national literature was examined, reports of relevant institutions and organizations were evaluated and document analysis technique was applied. The importance of the study is that gender-based studies are few in number and that climate justice should be developed from a feminist perspective.
