Climate Perspectives for a Sustainable Future.
Synopsis
Among the global problems that concern our present and future very closely and deeply, environmental problems undoubtedly come to the forefront. Environmental problems that started simultaneously with the existence of our planet have increased with humans and have reached the most dangerous levels in our century. It is quite thought-provoking that humans, who have the ability to be the only thinking creature, are the main actors of the situation we have reached. Because humans also have the ability to learn from their past and shape their future thanks to this equipment. Based on this need, a new field of expertise, “Environmental History”, has emerged where different disciplines come together and try to produce solutions by approaching human history from an environmental perspective. This exciting and effective new approach inspires us by presenting us with exemplary practices in history and reveals the important lessons to be learned for both our present and future. Therefore, it is an appropriate approach to benefit from the field of Environmental History, which has a great impact on the formation of both individual and social environmental awareness, for climate change, which is the global problem of humanity. Because, the problem of climate change, which increases its threat dimension with its existence and indirect consequences, has the potential to bring an end to all living things. Based on all these reasons, the climate change crisis is discussed in terms of environmental history and it is especially aimed to contribute to social environmental awareness.
