Synopsis

This study provides a comprehensive examination of the significant dimensions of the Belt and Road (BRI) initiative, including its content, trade volume, economic objectives, sources of financing, designed projects, and the broader global economic context. Additionally, it delves into China's trade structure and its position within the global economy, foreign trade policy reforms, and its membership in the World Trade Organization.

The analysis encompasses trade relations between Turkey and China, the structure of foreign trade, foreign direct investment and cooperation in various sectors. The findings include major infrastructure and energy projects such as the Turkish Stream, Mersin Port, Istanbul-Kapıkule High-Speed Rail Line, Kars-Istanbul Railway, Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, Hunutlu Thermal Power Plant, Kalyon Solar Technologies Factory and Kumport Port.

The descriptive analysis and discussion sections provide detailed insights into the characteristics and implications of these projects. The conclusions and recommendations section presents a comprehensive assessment of the impacts of these projects, outlines potential avenues for future research, and offers suggestions for further investigation.
