The aim of this study is to analyze the postgraduate theses written in our country on football, one of the popular sports branches, within the scope of content analysis. As a result of the analysis, it is aimed to reveal descriptive information about the theses prepared specifically for the branch. In our study, which is structured on qualitative foundations, National Thesis Center data were used. The necessary data were collected to conduct the research with the content analysis method. The study covers the period between 2010-2023. As a result of the search with the keyword “football”, all 1544 postgraduate theses, including 280 doctoral, 7 medical specialty and 1257 master's theses, were included in the study. Theses were scanned in detail and classified according to predetermined parameters and content analysis was created. The data collected within the scope of the study were analyzed through descriptive statistical methods using SPSS 25.0 program.

1049 of the 1544 theses were written in 2018 and later. With 237 theses, 2019 was the year with the highest number of theses written. 1257 master's, 280 doctoral and 7 medical specialization studies were conducted. It is seen that Marmara Region, Marmara University and Istanbul are the regions, cities and universities where the most theses were written numerically. Male authors wrote 1260 theses and female authors wrote 284 theses. The number of qualitative studies and mixed studies is considerably less than the quantitative research design. In addition to sports, nutrition and dietetics, psychology, sociology, psychology, sociology and business administration are the most studied subjects in theses. As a result, it is seen that the theses on football written between 2010-2023 contributed significantly to the literature. It is thought that increasing the number of doctoral theses and medical specialty studies in the future is important in terms of adding depth and quality to the literature.
