This research was conducted to examine the relationship between ruminative thinking style, meaning of life and social appearance anxiety of individuals who are members of fitness centers according to different variables. The population of the research consisted of adult individuals who are members of fitness centers in Mersin province and districts in . The sample of the study consisted of a total of 612 participants, 260 women and 352 men, who went to some fitness centers in the districts of Mersin and selected by convenience sampling method.  As data collection tools; “Ruminative Thought Style Scale”, “Social Appearance Anxiety Scale” and “Meaning in Life Scale” were used. The reliability of the research scales was examined by calculating the Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient. A significant difference was found in the participants' ruminative thoughts and meaning in life levels according to the age variable. A significant difference was found in the participants' social appearance anxiety levels according to the gender variable. A significant, positive and low-set (r=.302) relationship was found between ruminative thinking levels and social appearance anxiety of individuals who are members of fitness centers. A significant, positive and low level (r=.107) relationship between the level of ruminative thinking and the existing difference, and a significant, negative and low level (r=-.211) relationship between the level of ruminative thinking and the targeted difference was found. A significant, positive and low-level (r=.214) relationship was found between social appearance anxiety and existing difference. A significant, positive and low-level correlation (r=.292) was found between the existingand the targeted difference. In addition, it was predicted that as the level of ruminative thinking increases, social appearance anxiety will increase and the meaning of life will decrease.
