Synopsis
The interest in mental training, which is one of the effective methods used to increase the performance of athletes, is increasing. In this context, mental training is one of the most researched psychological concepts in recent times in terms of its positive contribution to the athlete's performance and its inclusion in practice together with physical training. The development of sport expertise is a dynamic and complex process. In this process, it is thought that improving the imagination and visualization abilities of athletes during training and competition can positively affect their performance. The aim of this study is to provide information about athletes' level of knowledge about mental training and their level of competence in its application areas. Thus, the aim of this study is to provide information about mental training used to improve athlete's performance, measurement of mental endurance in sports, mental training models and to make suggestions for a more comprehensive approach to mental training in alpine discipline. By emphasizing the current state of the existing literature, it is aimed to address the importance of mental training in alpine skiing and to create a reference point to guide studies and practices in this field.
