The fact that people live together and organize collectively has brought about the necessity of managing and being managed. The concept of management, which has a complex structure in our social life, finds its place in many areas. Management is the process of using monetary resources, equipment, fixtures, raw materials, auxiliary materials and time, especially people, in harmony with each other, efficiently and effectively in order to achieve certain goals. As a result of the differences that have occurred with the globalization of today's world, there have been developments in economic, technological, political and social fields and as a result of these developments, changes have been made in classical management approaches. The development of sports has progressed and changed in parallel with the development of individuals. These changes are inevitable to be seen in the field of sports management.
The sports sector provides jobs for millions of people around the world and is considered an important industry for the majority of the world's population and for elite and professional athletes and spectators. Moreover, as the sports sector has developed, interest and participation has increased. Over time, the growth of the sport sector has led to changes in the consumption, production and management of sport.
Many approaches in the field of management continue to dominate from past to present. In terms of sport management, there are different aspects such as the concept of sport marketing, the financial structure of sport on an institutional basis and career paths that industrialize sport. The management techniques and theories put forward by sports managers are similar to other organizational managers. However, when the concept of strategic management is examined under the title of sports, there are differences in the management of sports organizations in terms of organizational structure, human resources management, leadership and organizational culture. These differences are due to the unique structure of sport.
