Synopsis
The concept of leadership in sports management examines the significant reflections of management and leadership concepts in the field of sports. In the literature, the concept of management is defined as an activity that enables organizations to effectively achieve their goals, encompassing activities such as planning, organizing, producing, coordinating, and controlling. While sports increase individuals' social interactions on one hand, they also contribute to leadership and social development on the other. Management principles are always applicable in sports organizations; functions such as planning, organizing, and controlling are of great importance in organizations. Sports management encompasses processes such as resource management and strategic planning, while also being crucial for the success of sports organizations. The concept of leadership is defined as the ability to guide or persuade individuals to achieve their goals. While leaders solve daily problems as strategic thinkers, managers shape the organizational structure to achieve specific goals. Consequently, leadership in sports management is of great importance for effectively managing sports organizations and achieving success. This requires the application of both management principles and leadership skills in the field of sports.
