Investigation of the Attitudes of the Families of the Students Studying in Rural Schools towards Sports Facilities and Physical Education and Sports Lessons
Synopsis
This study was carried out in order to examine the attitudes of the families of the students who continue their education in the village schools affiliated to the Batman Provincial Directorate of National Education in the 2022-2023 academic year towards physical education and sports lessons and sports facilities in schools.
In the 2022-2023 academic year, 633 people from the families of students who continue their education in village schools affiliated to the Batman Provincial Directorate of National Education participated in this research. The people who will participate in the research were selected on a voluntary basis. In addition to the socio-demographic information of the individuals participating in the study, "Family Expectation Scale" and "Physical Education and Sports Course Satisfaction Scale" were used as data collection tools. The obtained data were analyzed through the statistical package program SPSS.22 program and the results were interpreted. Descriptive statistics including arithmetic mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage distributions in order to obtain an idea of demographic information and other group questions, correlation test to determine the relationship between the variables of family expectation and satisfaction level of physical education and sports lessons, family expectation and facility and sports equipment satisfaction levels were used in some demos.
As a result of the research, there was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of both family expectation and facility and sports equipment satisfaction levels according to the variables of transportation opportunity, guidance and information of teachers, number of children in the family, mother's education status and family income status. According to the variable of father's education level, a statistically significant difference was found between the groups in favor of fathers who were university graduates. A significant positive correlation was found between the satisfaction of the facilities and sports equipment and the family expectation levels of the individuals participating in the study.
