Synopsis
Abstract
Tourism has become an important phenomenon in the world as a means of economic return for countries as well as its contribution to cultural and sociological communication between people. While different motivation types have diversified over time in terms of tourism demand in the realization of touristic activities, natural beauties and the climate have become an important and constant factor in terms of tourism supply and its direct impact on them. Fossil fuel-based economic development and post-industrial economic activities have had increasingly negative effects on the sustainability of human life on Earth. These negative effects of climate change are likely to have a negative impact on the tourism revenues of countries. The use of fossil-based fuel in transportation, especially in the aviation sector, in the realization and mobility of touristic activities causes the negative consequences of climate change. Particular to climatic conditions, countries whose economies rely on income from tourism are likely to be directly affected socio-economically, politically and socially by the negative consequences of climate change. With climate change, touristic activities around the world will continue to undergo an evolutionary change. The important point is that countries should harmonize their existing touristic supply resources in terms of new tourism trends according to the impact of climate change on countries that generate income from tourism, or apply climate change-based marketing strategies to make their existing resources competitive in the tourism market, which will contribute to the sectoral sustainability of tourism.
