Synopsis

Trade is a significant instrument for sustaining human livelihoods. The advancement of technology and the increasing use of the internet have introduced transformative concepts affecting societies, one of which is the concept of trade. Over time, traditional trading has given way to electronic trading. People now fulfill their needs rapidly and effortlessly, indifferent to time or place. Therefore, online shopping activities gave way to a global increase in such transactions.

This study aims to determine the preferences and demands of users in the field of landscape architecture concerning E-commerce. To achieve this objective, 25 landscape architecture companies operating nationwide and engaged in E-commerce applications were selected for investigation. The study attempts to identify the most preferred products in E-commerce applications and the challenges encountered in their implementation.

The results of the study indicate that the advantages of products sold in E-commerce covers ease of fast procurement, price, and durable products while disadvantages arise from issues related to shipping and problems originating from live materials. It was observed that many companies resort to advertising in their E-commerce applications, experience no issues with refunds, and prefer E-commerce due to its ease and affordability. Based on the findings of the study, recommendations for the effective implementation of E-commerce applications in all areas of landscape architecture have been provided.
