Technology developing with the Industrial Revolution caused machine production to become widespread in factories. Thus, as a result of the decrease in manual labor and human power in mass-produced products, similar products have emerged, devoid of artistic and aesthetic values. With the Arts and Crafts movement, which was developed by the artists of the period as a reaction to this negative situation brought about by mechanization, the coexistence of art and craft was ensured. William Morris, one of the pioneers of the Arts and Crafts movement, was against industrial production and created the Arts and Crafts movement, modernism and Bauhaus, which developed with the idea of ​​eliminating the distinction between artists and craftsmen. Bauhaus School of Art and Design was founded in 1919 by Architect Walter Gropius. At the Bauhaus School of Art and Design, professionally important artists within the workshop system were given practical courses aimed at producing qualified and modern design products that meet the needs of the period, enabling students to specialize in the field of art or design, where they can work together with different disciplines. Another workshop that works in different disciplines at the Bauhaus School of Art and Design is the weaving workshop. This workshop is considered one of the most important formations in the textile design history of the 20th century. This workshop, where new materials and techniques suitable for industrial production that broke new ground in modern weaving art and pattern understanding were tested, led to changes in the perceptions of the modern period.

The fact that Bauhaus women designers struggled with all the difficulties experienced in the early 20th century did not prevent them from making revolutionary works in the workshop. There are a limited number of publications about Bauhaus women designers today. In this study, it is aimed to bring to light the innovative weaving designs of Bauhaus women designers, who pioneered the development of today's textile industry and inspired women designers.
