Synopsis
In earthquake zones, determining the behavior of soils under dynamic loads and considering it in building design it has great importance. These analyses examine the soil behavior in detail in terms of linear and nonlinear behavior. In order to perform these analyses, site-specific soil properties must be determined firstly. Laboratory studies are carried out with different test systems to determine the dynamic parameters of soils. In these test systems, both shear modulus and damping ratio values are obtained to determine the soil behavior. In this study, site-specific soil magnification analyses were performed as (1D). In the analyses, soil amplification effects at different periods, which are important in structural design, were compared.
