Synopsis
Nursing education aims to provide students with cognitive, sensory and psychomotor skills. In this context, innovative learning methods are used to facilitate learning and ensure the permanence of knowledge. The use of video-supported technology is also among these teaching methods. The use of video-supported technologies is frequently encountered in distance and face-to-face education, and it is stated in most studies that it contributes to learning. However, alternative methods have been developed for reasons such as watching videos keeping the student in a passive position. Interactive videos are also among these methods. We see that interactive video, which we frequently encounter in all fields, is also used in nursing education. However, it is also stated that studies on the subject in the national literature are limited. This review, written to raise awareness on the subject, includes theoretical information and research results on the use of interactive video in nursing education. As a result of the examination, it was seen that interactive video, which is generally used in teaching psychomotor skills in nursing education, has positive contributions to nursing students' knowledge, skills and satisfaction levels regarding the subject and reduces their anxiety levels regarding the skill. For this reason, it is recommended to use interactive video teaching in nursing education and to conduct studies that integrate different methods with interactive video.
