Synopsis
In this section, concepts related to out-of-school learning environments and out-of-class activities within the scope of teaching techniques applied by using some materials related to classroom/out-of-school activities and various venues will be discussed. In this context, the purpose and importance of out-of-school learning will be emphasized. On the other hand, teaching techniques applied in out-of-school learning environments (museums, parks, etc.) and the application processes for out-of-class activities (trips, observations, etc.) will be examined. The concepts of formal, non-formal and informal teaching will be mentioned regarding the activities in question. Thus, indirect information will be given about some possible misconceptions regarding these concepts. One of the stages in the process of training qualified personnel based on individual skills or professional competence is the out-of-school learning technique.
In addition to the gains students have learned in the classroom, the experience and self-confidence they gain within the scope of out-of-class activities is a considerable teaching technique. In this context, the importance, purpose and legal basis of out-of-school learning have been tried to be examined on the curriculum and textbooks of the Ministry of National Education (MEB).
