Synopsis

The problem-based learning method is defined as an experimental learning in which individuals participate actively by using their cognitive and kinesthetic skills, and in which research is conducted by organizing to produce solutions to complex and real-life problems based on experiences. It is argued that the problem-based teaching approach provides individuals with critical thinking skills, so that individuals will gain realistic solution skills by thinking critically on the sample real-life problems to be given. In this way, he emphasized that basic concepts can be taught. In problem design in problem-based learning, the teacher should present a problem by paying attention to the fact that it is appropriate for the curriculum and can be encountered in real life. The situation to be considered is that the problem should be at a level that can relate the existing knowledge of the learners with the problem posed. Another important point to be considered is that the problem posed does not contain all the necessary information, but it should not contain uncertainty and should be solvable. One of the important points of problem-based learning in practice is the reality of the scenarios prepared. The more the scenarios reflect real-life problems close to reality, the more successful it will be for the learners to feel themselves in the problem created after reading the scenario.
