The scarcity of natural resources and their depletion over time have prompted people to use these resources more prudently and seek sustainable alternatives in various fields. Environmental issues are gaining increasing importance, and economic activities are often at the root of these problems. To mitigate the negative externalities generated by economic activities and make growth and development more sustainable, environmental sustainability has become influential, particularly in shaping the formation of economic activities. In this context, green entrepreneurship activities are of great significance. Green entrepreneurs, who adopt the principle of environmental sustainability with the aim of earning economic gains, develop business models and solutions that aim to minimize environmental impacts while providing societal benefits. Examples of green entrepreneurship can be found in various industries, including the development of renewable energy projects, energy efficiency consultancy, recycling and waste management, organic farming and sustainable food production, water resource management, and the design and marketing of environmentally friendly products. To emphasize the importance of green entrepreneurship in terms of green economy and growth, several aspects such as efficient resource utilization, reduction of environmental impacts, innovative and technology-driven approaches, creating societal awareness and consciousness, gaining a competitive advantage, and building a positive corporate image can be mentioned. In this study, after explaining the conceptual framework of green entrepreneurship, its importance in terms of green economy and green growth is elaborated upon. Furthermore, entrepreneurial activities related to green sustainability and green economy in Türkiye and globally will be evaluated.
