Synopsis
The relationship, interaction and change of the arts with each other have appeared in different forms in every period. Art fields such as painting, music, ballet, cinema and literature show similar characteristics that shape and shape each other. The art of music transforms from sacred purposes and includes understandings that include subjective expressions and thus has the characteristic of evoking different emotions in each individual. In the art of painting; it has transformed from drawings showing nature as it is to subjective sensations reflecting the individual perception of painters.
In this research, by touching on the interaction of music with the art of painting, the reflections of the periods in the history of music that evolved from objectivism to subjective expressions on the art of music were examined. In this context, publications on the subject were examined and the research topics were structured under the titles of (1) Renaissance music and painting, (2) The interaction of music and painting in the Baroque period, (3) The birth of programmed music and its relationship with painting, (4) Timbral searches and colors in Impressionism, (5) 20th century color and sound integrity. A detailed look at the sub-headings identified is important because historical periods and movements concretely reveal the elements that influence painting and music. The main purpose here is not to present all the information about the history of music or painting. The information about the past is changing day by day and with this change, many missing information in history is reconstructed. The main goal has been to present the connection between music and painting with painters and composers without going into the history of music in detail. The pictures included in the research are only included to give the reader an idea because they carry musical elements.
When the relationship between music and painting is analyzed in terms of music education, it is important to include the period and style characteristics of the composer of the work played in piano and instrument lessons. In music history and instrument education, mentioning the relationship between music art and painting will also enable a holistic understanding of history.
