Synopsis
The involvement of family members in the establishment and subsequent processes of family businesses brings about a decrease in the suitability and performance of employees. Employee staff consisting of family members sometimes causes failures and unrest in the workplace. As in all institutionalized structures, in family businesses, roles and duties in the system must be determined and the system must operate in its integrity. Within this system, from time to time, situations occur that disrupt the order of the business. One of these is nepotism. Nepotism is defined as favoritism behavior that occurs among family members operating in a business. In this study, which is about nepotism practices, which is one of the problems of family businesses, an example of the nepotism-based working structure of a company that is not institutionalized is given and analyzes are made on these examples.
