Synopsis

The aim of this study is to examine the role of groups in the organization. Groups, group dynamics, and intergroup processes are inevitable and critical aspects of organizations and their management. A group is a group of interconnected people who perform a task or try to achieve a common goal. Group members interact with each other on a regular basis, and groups can strongly influence people's behavior. Understanding the knowledge and dynamics of how and why groups form can help you work better within a group or manage group activities. In this study, topics covered in line with the literature include group definition and similar concepts, characteristics of groups, reasons for joining groups, stages of group formation, group structure, group norms and dynamics, group decision processes. This study; roles, relationships and groups in organisations are assessed to be important to practitioners and researchers.
