The Effect of Recreative Sports Activities Performed by Individuals with Smile Intellectual Disability on Quality of Life

Synopsis
This scope of work; It includes the effect of recreational sports activities performed by individuals with mild mental special needs on the quality of life. While 19 people (95%) who participated in the study stated that they did sports, 1 person (5%) stated that they sometimes did sports. 7 participants in athletics (35%), 3 participants in football (15%), 3 participants in basketball (15%), 2 participants in volleyball (10%), 2 participants in swimming (10%), 2 participants in badminton (10%) and 1 participant preferred to play table tennis (5%). While 15 people (75%) who participated in the study stated that they had sufficient knowledge about recreational activities, 5 people (25%) stated that they did not have full knowledge. Among the recreational activities, 15 participants (75%) who attach importance to sportive activities stated that such activities have positive relations with their families, while 5 (25%) stated that their relations are not good. Among the participants who attach importance to sportive activities among recreational activities, 15 people (75%) stated that such activities affect their quality of life positively, and 5 people (25%) stated that they affect their quality of life negatively. According to the information we obtained from this study, it was concluded that as the recreational activity knowledge and participation levels of individuals with mild mental special needs improve, their quality of life, their relationships with their families, and accordingly, individuals feel happy when they participate in recreational activities.
