Examination of Positive and Negative Emotions of University Students in Terms of Different Variables

Synopsis

The aim of this study is to determine the positive and negative emotion levels of the students studying at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Faculty of Sport Sciences. In the study, the positive and negative emotion levels of the students studying in the sports management department were determined and compared in terms of gender, grade level, department, academic achievement, socio-economic status and participation in social activities. The research group consisted of a total of 300 students (126 female, 174 male) studying at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Sport Sciences. Positive and negative emotion scale was used as a data collection tool. According to the results obtained from the research; it was seen that the mean positive emotion scores of the students were higher than the mean negative emotion scores. No significant difference was found between the mean scores of positive and negative emotions and gender, department, grade level and academic achievement. Significant differences were found in terms of socio-economic status and participation in social activities.
