Synopsis
Although studies on leadership focus on leadership styles and outcomes, less is known about how leaders' own psychological health affects their leadership behavior. A leadership role can be demanding and tiring. In the most challenging and difficult to achieve situations in the organization, leader behaviors act as a locomotive for the organization and its members. The leader is always seen as up to the task and as the driving force. However, the psychology of leaders may not always be sufficient to complete difficult tasks with great enthusiasm and success. Leaders themselves may need energy and motivation. Accordingly, in this study, the igniting power of leader behaviors, leader resources and the depletion of resources will be discussed within the scope of Self-Regulation Theory, and information will be given about the individual and organizational consequences of leader depletion, the importance of resource conservation and process management.
