Synopsis

Fear of pain is the most important factor preventing patients from going to the dentist. Of all the procedures performed in the office, the procedure that patients feel the most pain and anxiety about is local anesthesia. Local anesthesia is the basic step in establishing and maintaining cooperation with the patient and relieving pain. In addition to traditional methods in recent years; computer-controlled local anesthesia applications (CCLAD), electronic dental anesthesia, local anesthesia applications with vibration, intraoral lidocaine tape and jet injection method have started to be used. Among these methods, a current way of obtaining painless local anesthesia is computer-assisted local anesthesia applications. It allows the solution to be injected with controlled pressure and speed, reducing the patient's anxiety and pain. The most popular of these systems in pedodontics is computer-assisted intraosseous anesthesia applications.
