Synopsis


Gynecological cancers have become an important health problem for women around the world due to increasing incidence and mortality. Cancer and cancer related treatments are accepted as a traumatic event that adversely affects health related life quality, functionality and life threatening. The situation resulting in a positive psychological change as a result of a psychological and cognitive struggle after the traumatic event is defined as post -traumatic growth (PTG) and demographic properties vary according to the type of trauma, social support, personality traits, coping methods and rumination method. Understanding PTG and the factors that affect the diagnosis of gynecological cancer is very important to increase the possibility of gaining positive changes.
