Synopsis

This study, which was carried out in Istanbul between April and September 2022, aimed to investigate the relationship between body awareness, work motivation and quality of life of primary school teachers. 109 volunteer teachers whose age range is between 25-40 participated in the study. The body awareness of the teachers included in the study was evaluated with the Body Awareness Questionnaire (BAQ), their work motivation with the Job Motivation Scale (JMS), their quality of life with the Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) and their posture status with the New York Posture Analysis Method (NYPAM). In the study, teachers' body awareness, work motivation and quality of life scales were done online, and posture analysis was done objectively by the same physiotherapist with the observation method. The mean age of the participants was 28.76 ± 5.34 years. Between VFA and intrinsic motivation (p=0.001), VFA and extrinsic motivation (p=0.018), VFA and quality of life sub-headings physical activity (p=0.001), energy (p=0.024), and VFA and NYPAY (p=0.021) A significant and positive relationship was found between them (p<0.05). No significant correlation was found between VFA and NHP sub-headings such as pain, emotional state, sleep, and social isolation. In conclusion; It was found that people with higher body awareness have higher work motivation, higher physical activity and energy levels, and better posture.
