Synopsis

Gastronomy tourism has become an important attraction for tourists who travel with the desire to experience the culinary culture of destinations. In this context, mobile kitchens, which emerged as a modern reflection of traditional street flavors, bring a new breath to gastronomy tourism. These mobile kitchens, which have become popular worldwide, attract the attention of both locals and tourists by offering a practical, accessible and authentic eating and drinking experience with their portable structures. The mobile kitchens trend provides many advantages in economic, social and cultural terms, while encouraging entrepreneurship and employment thanks to its low operating costs and providing dynamism to city economies. At the same time, it increases the attractiveness of destinations by introducing regional cuisines through gastronomy festivals and events. In Turkey, mobile culinary culture is developing, and traditional street flavors are modernized with the mobile kitchens concept and offered to consumers. However, in order for this sector to develop healthily, regulations regarding issues such as legislative deficiencies, hygiene standards and environmental sustainability are required. In particular, food safety, environmentally friendly practices and support from local governments are among the critical elements that will determine the long-term success of the mobile kitchen sector. As a result, mobile kitchens have the potential to promote the culinary culture of destinations on a global scale as an innovative and sustainable gastronomy tourism model and will continue to be an indispensable element of gastronomy tourism in the future.
