Synopsis
Considering that today's modern world is changing and diversifying rapidly, it is impossible for organizations not to be affected by this. The globalizing world, complexity, and dynamic business life constantly force organizations to change, develop, and be flexible. The path to change and development is through innovation. Innovation is seen as the most important tool for businesses to continue their existence. Today, businesses that can only survive with innovations and innovative approaches can achieve sustainability in this way. Innovation provides organizations with a strategic competitive advantage and allows them to get ahead of their competitors. This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between innovative business behavior and leadership. Within the scope of the research, after examining the two concepts in detail, their relationships with each other were examined and the relevant literature was reviewed. During the literature review, it was also examined which leadership types were evaluated with innovative work behavior. The main task of leaders in demonstrating innovative business behavior is to instill self-confidence in their employees, to empower them, and allow them to reveal their talents and potential. A leader who can provide this contributes to his organization in many ways. Transformational leadership, which is considered to be most suitable for the 21st century, is associated with the concept of innovative business. However, innovative work behavior has a relationship with other types of leadership and it is seen that more work needs to be done. In addition, since leadership practices are based on the relationship between the leader and the member and the expectations of the member from the leader will change in the cultural context, the framework of the research can be expanded by conducting studies and comparisons on different cultures.
