Synopsis

With the rapid advancement of the digital age, data has become a key element in the economic, social and technological transformation of societies. In particular, open data offers great potential for developing innovative solutions for public institutions, private sector and civil society. In recent years, with the development of artificial intelligence, big data sources have been processed more effectively and the environment has been prepared for the emergence of systems that support human decisions and can make automatic decisions. In this context, the processing and interpretation of open data in the context of its characteristics plays an important and critical role for artificial intelligence.

The combination of open data and artificial intelligence offers a wide range of benefits from improving public services to supporting economic development. Examples of these benefits include making more efficient decisions in public administration, optimising urban planning, and encouraging innovation in critical areas such as health and transportation. However, in addition to these benefits, the integration of open data and artificial intelligence also brings some challenges. In this section, how open data interacts with artificial intelligence, the opportunities offered by this combination and the challenges encountered will be discussed. How open data constitutes a resource for artificial intelligence models, in which areas it provides important outputs and the common points of the two phenomena apart from this integration will be examined in detail.
