The methods used to eliminate increasing and unexplained diseases are grouped under the name of “medical folklore”. These treatment sessions are performed by experts in the field. The fact that Anatolia is located in a buffer zone has also been a means for many traditions, customs and beliefs to be experienced in this geography. Medical folklore is only one of these belief structures. People have wanted to eliminate their diseases with religious/magical elements and various materials thanks to the experiences they have gained. In this study, an evaluation has been made about the past and present of the medical folklore system. In the continuation, the connection of animal, mineral and plant materials in Turkish culture and their relationship with medical folklore are explained.
