Synopsis

Menstruation is defined as a physiological process that starts with menarche and continues throughout the childbearing age and covers approximately 30-35 years of a woman's life, affecting all systems (Şimşek Küçükkelepçe, D., et al. 2022). Menarche is the first menstrual bleeding that occurs in women. This cycle, which occurs regularly every month during the reproductive period, is called the “menstrual cycle”. The ovaries produce a follicle each month and the endometrium prepares for ovulation. If pregnancy does not occur, the endometrium sheds, causing menstrual bleeding. The hypothalamus, pituitary anterior lobe and ovaries must work in a balanced way for this process to continue regularly (Konanç, A. 2023; Taşkın, L. 2020).

Menstrual irregularities are disruptions in this cycle and are common conditions that have a significant impact on women's reproductive health. These irregularities can negatively affect quality of life      but can be controlled with appropriate pharmacological treatment and traditional management. In addition to conventional      treatment methods, innovative approaches such as digital health technologies and gamification are used to increase the effectiveness of treatment processes. Gamification, in particular, stands out as a tool to help increase patient adherence to treatment. Digital health technologies and gamification contribute to making treatment processes more effective, and gamification is      a method that supports patients to better comply with treatment (Smith et al., 2023).
