Synopsis
Gynecologic cancers are a significant burden on women's health worldwide and the treatment of these diseases involves many physical, psychological and social challenges. Treatment modalities such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy can cause serious side effects that affect patients' quality of life. Factors such as pain management, psychosocial support, physical rehabilitation and patient motivation play a critical role in the treatment process. In recent years, gamification interventions have received increasing attention in terms of increasing gynecologic cancer patients' adherence to treatment, providing psychosocial support and improving overall quality of life. Gamification encourages patients' active participation in treatment processes by integrating game mechanics into healthcare. In this context, mobile applications that facilitate medication monitoring, digital solutions to adapt to chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and gamified rehabilitation programs that encourage physical activity can potentially make gynecological cancer patients' treatment processes more sustainable. However, empirical studies evaluating the impact of gamification strategies on gynecologic cancer patients are still limited. Therefore, more scientific research is needed to determine the effectiveness of gamification.
