Synopsis
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in cardiology has grown tremendously in recent years, as in other areas of medicine. AI offers significant potential in many areas of cardiology practice such as diagnosis, treatment planning, risk assessment and disease management. This chapter aims to review the current state of the art in the use of AI in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It also aims to introduce current applications of AI in cardiovascular diseases that may allow clinicians with limited expertise in computer science to better understand the boundaries of the subject and to put AI algorithms into clinical practice.
