Synopsis
The efficacy and safety of biomaterials used in dentistry depend on both their physical and biological properties. Antioxidant substances such as Trolox, N-acetylcysteine and Ascorbic Acid are of interest due to their potential benefits in oral health applications. Trolox is known as an analog of vitamin E and has a strong antioxidant activity. N-acetylcysteine is noted for its mucolytic and antioxidant properties, while Ascorbic Acid is known for its positive effects on collagen synthesis and immune functions. The use of these substances in dentistry can provide many benefits such as protection of oral tissues, acceleration of healing processes and reduction of inflammation. This study aims to investigate in detail the physical and biological properties of Trolox, N-acetylcysteine and Ascorbic acid. The evidence obtained may contribute to a more widespread and effective use of these substances in dentistry. Future research, focusing on the optimal doses and administration methods of these substances, may support their further integration in dental practice.
